“Battleship” Rihanna Screening Promotion
OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.
ELIGIBILITY:
This Promotion is open to legal residents of the United States (excluding Puerto Rico) over the age of 13 at time of entry who have a Twitter account in good standing. All federal, state, and local regulations apply. Void where prohibited. Employees and directors of Universal City Studios LLLP (”Sponsor“), their respective subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising, promotion, or production agencies, web masters and web suppliers (and their respective IRS dependents, immediate family members and individuals residing in their same household) are not eligible to participate.
The Promotion begins at 12:00:01 PM PT on May 1, 2012 and ends at 12:00:01 AM PT on May 15, 2012.
(”Entry Period“). Administrator’s computer will be the official clock for the Sweepstakes. Any other attempt at Internet entry is void.
HOW TO ENTER:
During the Promotion Period, visit the website www.battleshipmoviescreenings.com (the “Website”) and locate your Local Market (if available). Each Local Market will have a designated Twitter handle (e.g., “#BattleshipLA”) listed on the Website. To help “unlock” your Local Market, you may use your Twitter account to “tweet” the Twitter handle listed for your Local Market on the Website (“unlocking” is not required to participate in the Promotion). Once your Local Market has been “unlocked”, visit the Website and follow the instructions to complete the entry form with the information requested. Click “Submit Entry” to submit your entry form for the applicable Local Market Promotion. Upon completion and submission of the entry form, you will receive one (1) entry in the applicable Local Market Promotion. Limit one (1) entry per person, and/or email address per day, per Local Market Promotion. All entries must be received by the end of the Promotion Period in order to participate. The Website’s database clock will be the official time keeper for this Promotion. All required information on the entry form must be completed to enter and to be eligible to win. Proof of entering information at the Website is not considered proof of delivery to or receipt by Sponsor of such entry. Personal information collected in connection with the Promotion will be used in accordance with Sponsor’s online privacy policy, located at http://www.universalpictures.com/legal/privacy.html. Sponsor is not responsible for the storage or any use of your entry information by such third parties.
Entry must be made by the entrant, only at the Website. Entries made by any other individual or any entity, and/or originating at any other web site or e-mail address, including but not limited to commercial Promotion subscription notification and/or entering service sites, will be declared invalid and disqualified for this Promotion. Tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion, including but not limited to the use of any device to automate the entry process, is prohibited and any entries deemed by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, to have been submitted in this manner will be void. In the event a dispute regarding the identity of the individual who actually submitted an entry cannot be resolved to Sponsor’s satisfaction, the affected entry(ies) will be deemed ineligible. The Promotion Entities shall not be responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by Internet users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Promotion or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in the Promotion. The Promotion Entities assume no responsibility or liability for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, theft or destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION:
After the Promotion Period, up to twenty five (25) winners will be selected in a random drawing conducted by Sponsor from all eligible entries received throughout the Promotion Period for the applicable Local Market Promotion. Each potential prize winner will be notified by telephone and/or mail and/or e-mail using the contact information provided at the time of entry. Sponsor shall have no liability for any winner notification that is lost, intercepted or not received by a potential winner for any reason. If, despite reasonable efforts, a potential prize winner does not respond within ten (10) days of the first notification attempt, or if a prize or prize notification is returned as unclaimed or undeliverable to such potential prize winner, such potential prize winner will forfeit the applicable prize and an alternate prize winner may be selected. If any potential prize winner is found to be ineligible, or if he or she has not complied with these Official Rules or declines the applicable prize for any reason prior to award, such potential prize winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected. Sponsor may successively attempt to contact up to two (2) potential prize winners of in accordance with such procedure, and if there is still no confirmed prize winner after such attempts have been made, if any, the applicable prize may go unawarded.
PRIZING
Up to twenty five (25) prizes are available in each Local Market Promotion. Each prize consists of one (1) pass good for admission for up to two (2) people to an advance screening of “Battleship” (the “Screening”) in the applicable Local Market. The approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the each prize is $24.
The Screening is currently scheduled to take place on May 15, 2012, but the specific date, time and location of the Screening shall be at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. If (i) the prize winner cannot attend the Screening on the date and at the time selected by Sponsor, or (ii) the prize winner is unwilling, for any reason, to receive the prize as described in and in accordance with these Official Rules, the prize may be forfeited in its entirety and another winner may be chosen. All expenses not specified herein (including, without limitation, the cost of transportation for the prize winner and his or her guest to the Screening or refreshments at the Screening) are the sole responsibility of the prize winner and his/ or her guest. “Battleship” is rated PG-13. The prize winner’s guest must be age appropriate for the film. Children attending the Screening must be accompanied by adult chaperones. In the event the prize winner or any of his or her guest engage during the Screening in behavior that (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) is obnoxious or threatening, illegal or that is intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, Sponsor reserves the right to send the prize winner and/or his or her guest home with no further compensation.
Actual odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period for the applicable Local Market Promotion. Many will enter, only twenty five (25) will win each Local Market Promotion.
No cash alternative or substitution of prizes will be allowed, except Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute prizes of comparable value if any prize listed is unavailable, in whole or in part, for any reason. Prizes will be awarded only if the potential prize winner fully complies with these Official Rules. All portions of the prize(s) are non-assignable and non-transferable. All details and other restrictions of the prize(s) not specified in these Official Rules will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion.
WINNER’S LIST/OFFICIAL RULES
To obtain a copy of any legally-required winners list, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Battleship Rihanna Screening Promotion Winners List, c/o Universal Pictures, 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608. All such requests must be received within six (6) weeks after the end of the Promotion Period. These Official Rules will be posted on the Website during the Promotion Period.
GENERAL PRIZE CONDITIONS:
By participating in this Promotion, entrants agree to abide by these official rules. Sponsor is not responsible for injury or damage to any computer, other equipment, or person relating to or resulting from participation in the Promotion. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late or misdirected form entries; computer malfunctions, including but not limited to any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission or communications line failure. Form entries that contain errors, are incomplete, corrupted or illegible will not be accepted. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify entries from anyone tampering with the form entry process. Entrants release Sponsor, its agencies, and assigns from any liability, damage and/or loss resulting from participating in this Promotion and/or the acceptance, use or misuse of the prize. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to publish, post online, or otherwise refer to the name of the winner in any and all forms and media throughout the world, and for any and all publicity or promotional purposes, without obligation or compensation, except where prohibited by law. This Promotion shall be governed by the laws of the state of California in the United States of America and is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. Void where prohibited by law.
